Putting the Internet to work for you!

One of the great privileges of becoming an expert in networking technologies is sharing what you've learned with others. David has been able to take the fruits of his experiences, lab testing, and research and put it into writing through various white papers, application notes, implementation guides, and newspaper articles, both online and in print.
Now with NetGreen Consulting, Inc., we're able to offer our experience and writing talents to help you in marketing your products and explaining to your customers how best to use them. We've also brought together a number of articles and papers that David has written to help the general public understand networking technologies and the Internet. Many of these articles first appeared in the Bluffton Today newspaper; later the articles were picked up by Spero News and Daily Estimate as well. Thanks for giving us the initial opportunity to share this information in print and online!

Most of these articles appeared initially in the Bluffton Today newspaper. Several have been expanded and revised for the Spero News international online journal. The Web Host Directory web site has also re-published some of my articles that they found on Spero News.
The following list has links to the "best" (in my opinion) version of these articles:
- The Internet Name Game
- What's in a Domain Name?
- Hook, Line, and Sinker - Internet Phishing Expeditions
- Scams, Shams, & Spams - a Test!
- Be Wi-Fi Wary - Securing your wireless network
- 10 Years of 'Net Growth
- Can Your Password Weather an Attack?
- Have Credit Card, Will Shop Online! - thoughts on the paradigm shift in shopping that the Internet has brought about.
- Internet Crystal Ball Gazing for 2006 - my predictions on the major trends in telecoms and the Internet for the new year.

- Shopping in Your Underwear for Christmas? - Information and commentary on smart online shopping.
I wrote several white papers, application notes, implementation guides, etc. while working for a telecomms vendor. These are some of the most useful ones:
Along with writing articles and papers, I've also been a technical reviewer for some books on networking technologies:
- Computer Networks, 4th Edition by Andrew S. Tanenbaum - I was the primary reviewer for Chapter 4
- Network Management, MIBs and MPLS: Principles, Design and Implementation by Stephen B. Morris - I was the main technical reviewer for the entire book
Occasionally I get quoted or noted in online and/or print publications:
- "Fixed, mobile systems live together in harmony" - quoted extensively in the Convergence column of Network World, 31Oct'05
- Network World "Layer 8" Caption Contest winning entry
- "Warning: Fake Hurricane Katrina Aid emails and web sites" from my blog in Bluffton Today online
